Car Insurance

We may be new, but we’re driven by one goal—your peace of mind.

What is Car Insurance?

Car insurance is designed to protect you if your vehicle is stolen, damaged, or involved in an accident.
You can choose from several types of cover, including Third Party Only, Third Party Fire and Theft, or one of our four levels of comprehensive insurance.
At a minimum, car insurance covers the cost of damage you may cause to another person’s vehicle—this basic level of cover is legally required for all drivers.
Depending on your chosen plan, you may also benefit from additional features such as a 24-hour emergency helpline, a courtesy car while yours is being repaired, or personal injury cover in the event of an accident.

What level of cover do I need?

We provide three main levels of car insurance to protect you against accident and damage expenses.

Comprehensive Car Insurance
This is the most extensive coverage available. It includes third party, fire and theft protection, plus covers the cost of repairing or replacing your vehicle if it’s damaged in an accident or through malicious acts. Except for the Essential tier, comprehensive plans often include additional benefits such as windscreen cover and extended protection when driving outside the UK.

Third Party, Fire and Theft
This cover pays for any damage or injury you cause to a third party in an accident, and also protects your car against damage from fire or theft. However, it does not cover repairs if your vehicle is damaged in other ways, such as a collision.

Third Party Only
This is the minimum legal requirement for car insurance. If you’re involved in an accident, we’ll cover the costs for the other driver’s damages, but you won’t be able to claim for any damage to your own vehicle.

How We Determine Your Car Insurance Premium

We consider several factors when calculating the cost of your car insurance. While we regularly review our pricing to ensure you get a competitive premium, market conditions can also affect the final amount. Key factors include:

Your Personal Information

Typically, older and more experienced drivers pay lower premiums compared to younger or less experienced drivers.

Your Location

We assess the number and type of claims in your area—such as theft, damage, or high traffic levels—to help determine your rate.

Your Vehicle

The make and model of your car, along with its claims history and insurance group, play a role in setting your premium.

Driving Habits

If you drive frequently—especially for commuting—you may face a higher premium due to the increased risk of accidents.

Insurance Premium Tax (IPT)

As required by law, a 12% tax is added to your insurance premium. You can read more about this in our IPT guide.
